Winter garden tidy ups and putting to bed for Winter

Banbury Gardeners are now in the midst of an extremely busy planting season with the bare root season upon us and now we are carrying out winter garden tidy ups for many of our regular garden maintenance customers.

  • Cutting back and tidying
  • Clearing of leaves ( a regular weekly job)
  • Pruning of fruit trees
  • Weeding and forking the beds over
  • Planting bulbs

And if that is not enough many of our customers are now having their garden borders mulched and put to bed for the winter

What is Mulch? Mulch is a product that is biodegradable and can come in the form of compost, newspaper and bark chips to name a few. We use bark mulch and compost primarily as a thick layer applied over all the borders and around the trees and shrubs. Not only does this prevent weed growth  (when laid thickly) but also helps feed the spoil as it breaks down, Keeps moisture and warmth around the plant roots acting as an insulator, Finally it really sets a garden border off with a pleasing finish.
